Mind-Body Release (MBR)

Mind-Body Release is the most effective form of treatment I've found to date. On average I'd say that it works for about 90% of people with most people being able to work through more than one fear or goal per session, sometimes up to 3-4 or more. It also happens to be the simplest of the six healing methods I specialize in.

How It Works

This method is a synthesis of theories of my own creation incorporating ideas from Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), two well-researched and effective psychological theories. REBT is a theory that says distress is caused by belief systems and we have the power to change our beliefs. IFS is a theory that combines the idea that our body stores negative emotions physically, a well-known psychological fact, with the idea that we can have a dialogue with our subconscious that allows it to release what it's subconsciously holding on to. In order to do this we pick a topic or belief that is distressing to you, identify the most uncomfortable bodily reaction associated with it, and then engage in the dialogue with the subconscious. In this dialogue our objective is to get the subconscious on board to release the stuck emotions. Once this is done, the subconscious is able to release the emotions very quickly which corresponds with tangible changes you will feel in the body. Once all uncomfortable physical sensations are released, the original stressor is no longer distressing. Strip IFS of all its talk therapy components and add in REBT and belief systems, and you've got Mind-Body Release.

This is how clients have benefited from using this method besides feeling better overall:

Increased Body Awareness

  • The coolest aspect of this method is feeling your body react and change in real time as you release stuck negative emotions. It helps you recognize the connection between your body and your mind by experiencing it. Clients tend to really enjoy feeling the shifting physical sensations in their body.

  • The recognition of the mind-body connection helps clients pay more attention to their body and its reactions throughout their day. This leads clients to increased self-awareness.

  • Many clients have learned to respect their body's wisdom instead of ignoring it by using this method and have gained a much deeper appreciation for their body.

Self-Acceptance

  • Denying and repressing physical sensations is equivalent to doing so emotionally as the two are inextricably tied together. Accepting physical sensations and honoring them leads to increased self-acceptance for basically all clients.

Understanding The Power Of Choice

  • Working through beliefs and emotions quickly, and feeling it change in your body, helps clients recognize the power they have over their emotions. Instead of sitting in negative emotions for days, months, or years, clients learn how to work through them in a matter of minutes. Once you experience this you start to understand that you are in control of your emotions, not the other way around.

Forming A Conscious Relationship With The Subconscious

  • The subconscious works for you, not against you, even though it doesn't seem like that sometimes. This method teaches people to trust the wisdom of their subconscious even when it may not consciously make sense. This method helps people form a positive relationship with their subconscious rather than fighting against it (a futile endeavor).
