Past Life Regression
Past lives are a scientifically validated concept studied by the University of Virginia, a "new Ivy" league school with rigorous academic standards, which you can read about here. The cases they've studied on past lives have led them to conclude that those "cases contribute to the evidence for survival of consciousness after death," a very bold claim to make by any established university. Like it or not, past lives are evidence-based.

Past Life Regression is placed sixth because it is the least reliable of all the methods in terms of targeted healing. Past Life Regression gives you what you need, which is rarely what you think it's going to be. I haven't used past life regression with a client as the sole means of healing so I can't yet speak to its efficacy as a healing method besides what I've read in books like Many Lives Many Masters by Dr. Brian Weiss, a psychiatrist who treated a severe client with nothing but past life regression. Regardless, around 80-90% of people who have tried it have gotten something beneficial out of it, including myself despite not believing in it at the time.

How It Works

Past Life Regression operates under the assumption that souls are eternal and we have all lived past lives. Furthermore it states that sometimes experiences from past lives influence our current life time and by doing Past Life Regression those experiences can be released resulting in improved functioning. Past Life Regression is a meditation in which the client is taken to three past lives, exploring three pivotal moments in each lifetime and its death in order to gain insight and lessons relevant to the present. You don't have to believe in past lives in order for this to work, you just have to be open-minded enough to try. You can read more about scientific research on past lives as well as how to do it on your own on my blog here.

This is how clients have benefited from using this method besides feeling better overall:

Insight
-
Clients most often get some sort of spiritual direction for what they need to work on next in their lives in order to reach a higher state of peace and happiness.
-
Some clients gain insight into why they have certain tendencies, fears, passions, or other aspects of their being or personality.

Existential Experiences
-
Past Life Regression is a very interesting experience for most clients, it definitely has been for me, and can either solidify or challenge existing paradigms about the purpose of life and consciousness.

Fun
-
Past life experiences are pretty fun, at least to me and most clients who have done it. The types of things that come up are never expected and they are always really interesting.
