What To Expect

The Office

My office address is 5663 S Redwood Road, Suite 2, Taylorsville, UT 84123. It's the first building on the left as you enter into the building complex and is the suite on the right side of the building next to Molly Maid. The second to last picture shows the building. The door opens up to a lobby which is the last picture shown. If it is your first session, take a seat in the lobby and I'll come get you. The rest of the pictures are of my office.

Basic Information

Cost: I do not accept insurance. A session runs at $150 but I believe that healing is a human right so I am willing to work with you on a price if $150 is unaffordable for you, just keep in mind that I'd rather not be homeless.

Format of Sessions: The goal of the first session is for us to get on the same page about what causes issues for you. Once we have that down it's time to get to work!

First Session: Coming with a list of what you want to work on will expedite the process and allow us to get you healing as quickly as possible.

Healing Methods: All of the methods I use are not within the parameters of traditional psychotherapy techniques nor are they regulated by them. The methods I use are chosen due to their effectiveness from personal experience and client experience and are constantly being refined and redeveloped.

Best Method for Healing: Everyone is different and different techniques work better for different people. We will start with what works best for most people and move on from there. If you don't like the technique we are using, let me know and we will change it up!

Timeline for Healing: The timeline for healing can vary depending on the individual. Most clients are able to work through one or more treatment goals simultaneously in one to six sessions. The more distressed a person is starting out, generally the longer the healing process takes.

After the Session: Most people feel amazing throughout the whole healing process but some people experience fatigue or fluctuating emotions as common side effects from a session. For some clients, things may get worse before they get better. Some clients temporarily worsen in their symptoms after the first session or two of tackling a difficult issue. The more a person has repressed their fears or swept them under the rug, the more likely things will feel worse at first but feeling worse doesn't mean healing isn't occurring in this case, it actually means the opposite. For people in this category, shining a light on what they've kept in the dark is not a pleasurable experience but it is necessary one for healing to be possible. Just like a broken bone doesn't get reset without pain, nor does one's fears. Come into sessions trusting that it will get better, even if it isn't easy.

Teaching Competency: We will get you started healing yourself without my guidance as soon as you feel comfortable. These techniques are not difficult and anyone can learn to do them. The end goal is always self-sufficiency.

Completing Treatment: Treatment will be complete when you feel stable, at peace, and happy with your life. If you aren't there yet, you aren't ready to be done. It's common for clients to end before they get to actual stability, a mistake that basically guarantees the remaining issues will resurface at some point. Might as well take care of all of them so that you can live the best life possible. If you think you've got a handle on how to heal yourself and don't see the need to continue coming, I recommend finishing your remaining goals between sessions quickly so that if you run into trouble you still have me as an active resource. Additionally, working through all your goals doesn't mean you're done healing, it just means that you've established a solid foundation. Keep healing yourself as things come up.

Informed Consent: All clients are required to sign my informed consent form which can be viewed here.
