Peace Theory
Peace Theory works for about 50% of people, but it stands out because it has worked for people where all other techniques have failed or been marginally effective. Due to the effectiveness of other theories, I don't use Peace Theory often.

How It Works

Peace Theory theorizes that problems stem from unprocessed emotions, often originating in childhood where emotions are pre-verbal or not able to be correctly interpreted by the lack of development of the prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for higher cognitive processes, which fully develops around age 25. Peace Theory centers around releasing specific emotions such as anger, hurt, shame, jealousy, etc. and theorizes that successfully releasing trapped emotions results in optimal emotional functioning.

In order to release the desired emotions we will first pick a specific distressing emotion and then attempt to release it using a life timeline meditation. The first experience you've ever had with that particular emotion is released in the meditation first under the assumption that your initial experience of that emotion will be the largest stuck point influencing all other experiences of that emotion throughout your life. Once the first experience is released and replaced with feelings of peace (the catch-all positive emotion) you release all other experiences of that emotion from your lifetime eventually replacing them with peace as well. You can read a more in depth explanation on how it's done and how to do it yourself on my blog here.

This is how clients have benefited from using this method besides feeling better overall:

Feeling Peace
-
Due to this theory's concentration on experiencing emotional peace, it helps clients feel peace more in their life and gain self-awareness into when they aren't feeling at peace.

Understanding The Power Of Choice
-
Working through specific emotions through this theory has helped clients recognize the power they have to work through negative emotions and restore peace in their lives.
-
It also helps clients realize that being in a state of peace is a choice, a choice that they can easily make for themselves and accomplish.
